Friends (part 3)

What nicer way to finish your weekend nights than to celebrate with a nice Italian. Myself and the wife met up with a friend from work and her partner at arguably the best Italian in Town. Good, close and comfy environment. Great service too. I'm full on my one meal of the day. Looking forward to the gym tomorrow.

Its a birds life

Every wondered how life would be as a bird?

Little work commitments, waiter food service at the park without tipping, free rent / accommodation. No light bills or commuting costs with the added benefit of being able to see the world. How blissful. I really can think of one downside - being a possible prey!

Old Stomping Ground

Reflection

Back in the day, Year 2K+1,  no night out was ever complete without visiting Vokda Rev, whether that be at the start, middle or end you had to visit this establishment. Shots after cocktails and house music and good vibes the night would always be charged. Vodka Rev changed city centre nights out in Sheffield, from the club (High entry)  to the Bar scene (Free entry). If the vibe wasn't good or you just got bored you just moved onto the next one

Present Day

Took a trip back down SOUTH to Sheffield to run some errands and came across Vodka Rev, my old stomping ground. I hear Sheffield is dead from mates back home. Nowhere to go, nothing to do on a night out, same old, same old. My answer is this. Check out another city! Check out Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Brum and Manchester. You are sure to find something you like

Anyhow

Enjoy and reminisce

All In!!

So tonight was poker night. Round at my friends pad for his birthday. My wife chilled with her friends. I lost both games. I guess i have to get my poker game up to scratch. I had fun though. I have to find a better way to bluff. My tell is way to much a give away

Earlier in the day I got busy making contacts, sorting bills and conducting household chores. Adult life is  drag somedays.

Back home to overcast england

Weekend break over. Too fast if you ask me. Barcelona was great fun. SO much done in so little time. A world wind 48 hours included, shopping, tapas, siesta, tapas, music, Gaudi, cable car, beach walk, Camp Nou, tapas and then home. In amongst this PLENTY of pictures!

And now i'm back in sunny England. So sad. So Overcast. So Cold. I really need the summer to come quick

At least nestling back at my pad makes things a little more appeasing. Recently found out that Granary wharf has won the RIBA award for its architecture. Guadi would be pleased (tongue in cheek!)

Sagrada Familia

Inside one the architectural feats of Antoni Gaudi, truly amazing spectacle!

So much thought and design into the church. Just wish I had more time to embrace this masterpiece.

Fantastic

Sales Legend

Another flashback for the month of February. This time last year I was crowned for the 2nd time as Sales Legend for Orange, making the top 40 on the list. I miss those days on the shop floor.

Holding down med school and a part time job was tough at times but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. If you want a 'look see' into the madness of a mobile phone sales advisor then please watch re runs of Phone Shop on  Channel 4

Branch Out

To todays reflection. Branching Out.

Although its necessary to have a focus, a direct plan giving direction to life pursuits, it may be prudent to let life take a different course. Sometimes going off course gives new purpose. Branching out, putting your finger in different pies so to speak. Putting the feelers out. If you fail to make inroads, you can always go back to the root to refocus.

Anyways, enough blabber

An Apple a day....

If you don't know me and have just stumbled across this blog on your search on the net, then you'll probably not know that i am all things Apple.

Some of my friends would go as far as suggesting that i'm an Apple disciple! I know, crazy right. I just like products that work, don't offer a blue screen of death, sync well and offer a good depth to customer facing product support.

Without doubt there are other products out there that may fulfill many of the criteria above but with Apple you get all of these things and this works for me.

So get applfied (mac, tv, ipad, iphone, time capsule)  and enjoy the pic

Walentines Day = Wife valentines

The Wife and I shared our first Walentines together as Man and Wife. I took the day off to chill out. We headed to H City to share our special evening together. Regardless of the origins of Valentines day, I think its good to have a day to take the time out to think of those close to your heart, (although you should do this all day everyday)

So how did you celebrate your day?

Bless up, and much love

Friends part deux

Erdinger - A quality beverage!
Day 7 of work. Im ready for a day off now. Thankfully that day is tomorrow.

Part deux's are like buses I guess. Met up with one of my work friends and ex work colleagues, from my old job as a mobile phone sales advisor,  Adham. He's a bit of a comedian, like myself, but more left field. Was good to catch up. We chilled and chattered at my local. Good times

Now for the finale of Real housewives of Atlanta.....

Leeds @ night

Bridgewater Place
Just woke up from my evening nap. Feel refreshed and ready to go! There are a lot of night time shots so far in this blog. Reflecting the fact that we (in the UK) are in the winter months and that I work all day indoors. I really cant wait for the summer to come along. But whilst we have the short days and long nights, I may as well make the most of it. Tonight's shot is from the roof top of my pad in the CIty Centre. At first glance you might think the skyline of a city centre would luck, dusty, mirky, dirty and unclear. But this view would suggest otherwise. I love city centre living at this stage in life. With the price of petrol so high i can utilize the gift of transportation God gave me and walk from A to B.

Bless

Shower Mist

Bluuurrrreeed
So you step out of the hot shower, to check yourself out in front of you big 'look at me i'm so vain' mirror, and what do you see looking back? Blurry you due to condensation. Now i'm not a big fan of using the extractor so i just put up with it. Thought i would capture the clearing of the mist though.

Enjoy

Down time, Away time, Own time

Wine and dine - MissC entertains
Carla hosted her first girly social at the pad today. This meant that I was banished from the apartment. A 7K run at the gym and a 4K row later (Very tiring I hasten to add, fitness levels have dropped!) I returned home. MissC was still entertaining so I resorted to watching the rugby in the study. Had to keep down the noise though. Great win for England over Wales. Love rugby union. Arguably thats where the real heart in sport lies. Only the bravest survive. My weekend of sport will be interrupted with On Call medical shifts this weekend - 25 hours gulp!. Ah well. Sky plus will be in heavy rotation!

Lets work people

Much Love

In the Picture

Sparkly Shoes
So my baby wants to be a photographer now. I love her drive and determination to learn new things. The pictures were pretty good too, if I dare say so myself. Maybe she's on course for her own project 365, lets wait and see............

I want to be a doctor because...........

Small depth of field hence the blurry extremes
Today I write on why I wanted to study medicine. Was it (A) because it was the in thing to do? Was it (B) because it would make my family proud? (C) Did I embark on a career based on life long learning for the money and prestige? Or was it (D) None of the above?

There are many reasons for my chosen career. However maybe I didn't choose medicine. Maybe medicine chose me.  It may sound cliche but the odds of getting onto a medical training program at my first choice university was around 1/38 -  Im not a gambling man but i recognise the above odds are pretty poor -I'm sure you would agree.

My main motivation for entering this business was (and still is) set on the firm underlying passion to 'help people in society'. A simple yet significant focus. In hard times I find it very helpful to reflect on this focus to answer the questions why I chose medicine and why medicine chose me.

What drives you to do the job you do?

P.S The picture is a flash back to a news article from 2006 in Jamaica, where I worked for 2 months at the Kingston Public Hospital. I was interviewed by the BBC and local news:

P.P.S the answer was D None of the above. For money please - i'd have been a BANKER!
